Severs co-located in Gujarat State Data Center (GSDC)
The Government of Gujarat has established India’s First Operational State Data Centre - Gujarat State Data Centre (GSDC) in Gandhinagar, which serves as a
central repository of data and information for all Government of Gujarat’s Departments and Citizens. GSDC will act as a mediator and convergence point between
open unsecured public domain and sensitive government environment. GSDC has been equipped to host / co- locate systems such as Web Servers, Application Servers,
Database Servers, SAN etc. The SDC infrastructure shall provide adequate space to house IT assets of various departments within the state in an environment that
meets the need for reliability, availability, scalability, security and serviceability. GSDC has a high reliability for 24*7 operations, adequate redundancy,
and protection against hazards, future expandability and security.
GSDC is integrated with the other two core infrastructure i. e. State Wide Area Network (SWAN) and Common Service Centre (CSC). In addition to the Main SDC at
Gandhinagar, The Government of Gujarat has established three Mini Data Centers one each at Mehsana, Rajkot and Vadodara , to provide decentralized delivery of
services to reach the citizens in the urban and rural segments pertaining to that geographic cluster. All the 3 Mini Data Centers has a seamless connectivity to
the Main SDC at Gandhinagar.
The primary objective of the Data Centre is to consolidate the services, applications and infrastructure to provide effective and efficient electronic delivery of
G2G, G2C and G2B services. Towards achieving this objective, it is the primary responsibility of the GSDC to safeguard the IT information and infrastructure
Assets entrusted under its control.
